Great opportunity for an experienced A/C Operator / HVAC Mechanic onsite in Palo Alto, CA.
MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS (include but not limited to):
• 4+ years of journeyman level experience working on industrial HVAC systems.
• Proven experience to repair, modify, maintain, service, perform preventive maintenance of air conditioning units, plants and systems, and related equipment in specific and/or critical areas.
• Proven experience to plan, lay out, and install critical climatic units, insuring balance and readout.
• Proven experience to alter, or substitute required components to meet conditions in different areas to provide comfort to patients and staff.
• Proven experience to overhaul and maintain a variety of refrigerating units such as testing calibrations on critical units, freezers, hot and cold food carts, individual heat pumps, water chilling systems, and units interlocked with solar systems.
• Proven experience to work independently to check elements such as those which control internal pressures, temperatures of cooling units and running time of various machines, to visually leak-check and perform an audible examination of equipment, work with others in installing heavy roof-mounted units, ceiling installation and/or where problems arise.
• Proven experience responding immediately to service vital, malfunctioning equipment in all areas, and work with or trains others in the operation of equipment.
• Proven experience with proper inspection and maintenance practices in the trade, using manufacturers’ information, literature and instructions, or trade guides and maintenance manuals.
• Proven experience to fabricate duct work, using proper tools and equipment common to the air conditioning/refrigeration trade, to determine from own knowledge or by referring to manufacturers’ literature, the pipe sizes to be used in specific applications, to select tools, equipment, instruments and/or materials to be used in completing assigned tasks.
• Proven experience with the principles and theories of air conditioning and refrigeration, refrigeration cycling and heat transfer laws and the ability to apply this knowledge to a variety of domestic, commercial, and industrial equipment and systems.
• Proven experience with control elements, high and low side pressure, temperature of cooling units, temperatures of the liquid and suction lines and running time of various mechanisms for the different systems to locate and repair faulty equipment swiftly and reduce the downtime of the equipment.
• Proficient in reading, interpreting, and applying complex blueprints, wiring diagrams, rough sketches, manufacturers’ instructions and literature, and other written guides and work instructions and readily understand oral instructions and equipment specifications and requirements.

Benefits begin on the first day of the month following one full month worked on an approved SCA applicable federally funded assignment as a full-time (30 hours or more per week) non-exempt ActOne Government Solutions Federal Service Contract Associate. Prior to the first day health benefits begin, all employer contributions will be deposited into a 401(k) on the scheduled contribution date.
