Position Summary

The Lead Designer drives the creation of high-quality design assets for Upper Echelon Products, one of Amazon’s Top 100 U.S. Third-Party Sellers, enhancing brand and product presence on Amazon and other platforms. Based in Austin, TX, this role collaborates with the design team and cross-functional partners to execute design projects under the direction Marketing. The Lead Designer combines advanced design expertise with Amazon platform knowledge to deliver visually compelling assets and support team efforts, contributing to UEP’s creative excellence and marketplace success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design Creation: Produce high-impact design assets, including product packaging, Amazon storefront content, and marketing materials, adhering to brand guidelines.
  • Product Photography Oversight: Manage the creation and quality of product photography, ensuring images meet Amazon’s standards and enhance customer appeal.
  • Imagery Optimization: Oversee the development and refinement of product imagery for Amazon listings (e.g., A+ content, product images, lifestyle shots), maximizing visibility and conversions with platform expertise.
  • Amazon Optimization: Develop Amazon-specific design elements (e.g., A+ content, product images) to maximize visibility and conversions, applying platform expertise.
  • New Product Development: Market Research, enhancements, 3D Renders, split testing.
  • Team Support: Mentor junior designers, providing guidance and feedback to ensure quality and consistency across projects.
  • Project Execution: Manage assigned design workflows, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines in alignment with team objectives.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with marketing, content, and product development teams to ensure cohesive design integration across platforms.

  • Photography Oversight : Skilled in directing product photography processes, including guiding lighting, composition, and post-production for e-commerce visuals.
  • Communication : Clear verbal and written skills for team collaboration and project updates.
  • Problem-Solving : Capable of resolving design and workflow challenges efficiently.
  • Process-Oriented : Highly structured, able to work effectively in agile processes with remote, global team members.
  • Analytical : Strong ability to analyze design challenges and data to drive informed decisions and optimize outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 4+ years in design roles, with at least 2 years focused on Amazon design projects or e-commerce creative initiatives.
  • Strong Portfolio: Packageing, rendering, vIdeos, logos, etc.
  • Amazon Experience: Must have hands-on experience optimizing design for Amazon’s marketplace (e.g., listings, A+ content, brand stores).
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, or a related field appreciated, but not required.
  • Certifications: Optional—Amazon Advertising certification or similar e-commerce credentials.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with design software (e.g., Photoshop, Illustrator, Marvelous Designer, Keyshot, etc) and basic data analysis tools (e.g., Excel).
  • Travel: Willingness to travel 5% for team coordination or Amazon-related events.
  • Language: Fluency in English required.
