Job Description

The HR Manager works as an integral part of the HR team supporting all aspects of the HR function. Ensuring the organization attracts, develops, and retains top talent while fostering a positive workplace culture. Works with the department director to develop HR strategies, policies, and programs that align with business objectives. Responsible for the support and maintenance of the human resources information system (HRIS) and the administration of company-wide compensation and benefit programs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead and mentor HR generalists, offering them opportunities for ongoing professional development
  • Provide guidance and support to management on HR best practices
  • Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and employee retention strategies
  • Manage performance appraisal system to drive employee growth and productivity
  • Partner with the department director to oversee employee relations and conflict resolution
  • Maintains full knowledge of all benefit plans and responds to benefit plan/program inquiries
  • Lead the process of benefits administration to include change reporting and communicating benefits information to employees
  • Administers benefit programs in compliance with ERISA, HIPPA, COBRA, Section 125, and applicable Federal and/or State employment/benefit laws
  • Leads the annual benefits Open Enrollment process
  • Coordinates FMLA and short/long term disability claims with 3rd party leave administrator
  • Partners with the payroll department for HR and benefits-related audits, including 401(k)
  • Oversees and coordinates bi-weekly payroll changes as well as auditing payroll entries
  • Champions the company's wellbeing efforts by co-leading the Wellbeing program, ultimately serving as the steering committee chairperson
  • Oversees compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law
  • Write, maintain and support a variety of reports or queries utilizing appropriate reporting tools
  • Support the reporting and analytics function in HR by producing various scheduled and ad-hoc workforce reports, scrubbing data, completing analysis and presenting findings
  • Work with the department director to prepare analytics to share with senior management
  • Assists Finance and Accounting with reporting used for payroll, forecasting and compliance
  • Provide support and maintenance for the HRIS system including researching and resolving system problems and maintaining proper security profiles for each employee
  • Serve as a key liaison with third parties and internal stakeholders to coordinate integrations with benefit vendors
  • Serve as technical resource for system upgrades, enhancements and implementations to ensure internal processes are not compromised

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Thorough knowledge of labor laws, HR practices, and compliance requirements
  • Excellent leadership, communication, presentation and problem-solving skills
  • Organized, with strong time management skills and proven ability to juggle and reprioritize or delegate based on business demands and priorities
  • Must possess strong ethical standards regarding the handling of the highest level of confidential, sensitive information
  • Periodic regional travel required

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or related field with a minimum of eight years of HR experience required
  • Proven experience as an HR Manager or in a senior HR role highly desired
  • Human Resources certification a plus
  • Proficiency in HR systems and Microsoft Office Suite
